3D2N Kawag Nature Lodge

Depart 80 minutes overland from Lahad Datu to Kawag Nature Lodge. Be greeted upon arrival with a welcome drink and a short briefing before checking into your room. After lunch at the dining hall, proceed at 2:30pm for a 2km guided trek, passing streams along the way with the chance of wildlife sightings. After dinner, take a guided night drive in search of nocturnal wildlife (weather permitting).

DAY 2 KAWAG NATURE LODGE

After breakfast, proceed for 2.8km guided trek into the rainforest with the chance for wildlife encounters and sightings. Don’t forget your swimming attire for a dip at the ‘Ali Baba Waterfall’ at the end of the trail. Enjoy lunch back at the lodge. In the afternoon, enjoy river activities nearby on the Kawag River before returning to the lodge for dinner.

DAY 3 KAWAG DANUM - LAHAD DATU - KOTA KINABALU

After an early breakfast, enjoy a final guided walk to a nearby trail. Check-out after lunch for your return to Lahad Datu and your afternoon flight back to Kota Kinabalu.

• About 52km away from Lahad Datu town or airport, Kawag Nature Lodge is built on a 200 million years of crystalline basement, near the boundary of Danum Valley Conservation Area (DVCA). The lodge have 10 units air-conditioned deluxe rooms and 10 units ceiling fan standard room with private bathroom and veranda. WIFI is available at the lodge but the reception is inconsistent due to its location. There is no ​soft drinks, tid-bits or alcohol available for sell but drinking water bottles are provided in the room.
